Football Season Wrap-Up

Football Season Wrap-Up

By Annalise Zolotas

Sadly, the football season has recently ended. It’s time to say goodbye to Friday night lights, facepaint and cold bleachers. Our varsity football players had their last game with their fellow seniors at Minisink Valley. While it was a tough season we believe our players did an amazing job. The homecoming game had an amazing turnout with our team winning 58 to 33 against Goshen High School. The JV football team also had an amazing season. They played their last game of the season on October 24th. Most of the players on the team shared that their favorite game of the season was on October 17 when they beat Cornwall 46 to 28. They did an exquisite job and we can’t wait to see their return to the field next year.

Homecoming Game

Homecoming Game

This year, the Homecoming Game’s theme was whiteout and almost every Lourdes student showed up in white to support the school. In addition, many students from the Catholic middle schools in the area also came out to support Lourdes. The game started out with Lourdes in the lead. At halftime the score was 36 to 12.

During halftime, the Dance Team gave a wonderful performance, raising students’ spirits for the rest of the game. For the second half of the game, Lourdes’ gameplay was outstanding. With every point came another round of smiles from the stands. The game ended with a score of 58 to 33. The football team put in an amazing effort to win the Homecoming Game.
